Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Handemova: [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] legal name of the operator (Cameron Drummond as a sole trader, or a company), ABN [CAMERON TO CONFIRM], trading as “Handemova” (business name registration: [CAMERON TO CONFIRM]), of [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] postal address in Western Australia (“we”, “us”). Contact: [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] contact email.

Your consumer rights. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, remedy or guarantee you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), Schedule 2 (the Australian Consumer Law), or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a term would do that, it is read down or doesn't apply.

1. What Handemova is, and isn't

2. Who can use it

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Handemova to harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, monitor or control anyone; to breach a court order, family violence order or restraining order (including a WA family violence restraining order); to upload anything unlawful; or to try to access another family's data. We may suspend or close an account used this way, and we may report threats to safety to police.

4. Price and payment

Handemova is free during the beta and payments are switched off. If we start taking payments for Family Plus (proposed: a one-off A$29 per family, GST included), we will show the full price, what it includes and the rules below before you pay.

5. Your records

Your family's data is yours. Export it at any time (More → Download your records) and delete your account at any time (More → Your account). See the privacy policy. Records may be useful to you, a mediator or a lawyer, but whether any record is accepted as evidence, and how much weight it gets, is for the court. We don't claim the history is “court-approved” or “admissible”.

6. AI features

Some features (reading school notices, and assistant connections) use automated tools that can be wrong. Check every suggestion before you rely on it. See the AI notice.

7. School apps and other names

Handemova reads emails and pasted text from school communication apps such as Compass, SEQTA, Schoolbox, Sentral, School Bytes, Xuno, Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoolzine, ClassDojo, Operoo, QParents and Daymap. We name them only to describe compatibility. Handemova is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, or by OurFamilyWizard. All trade marks belong to their owners.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim for a reliable service, with daily backups, but it may sometimes be unavailable or change. Keep your own copy of anything important (export is free). We'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before a change to these terms that is materially to your detriment takes effect; if you don't agree, you can stop using Handemova and, if you paid within [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] days, ask for a refund.

9. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, and for anything the Australian Consumer Law makes us responsible for. We are not responsible for decisions you or anyone else makes in reliance on the calendar instead of your parenting orders, or for AI suggestions you didn't check. [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] any further limitation wording, only if the lawyer confirms it is not an unfair contract term.

10. Ending

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend an account for serious or repeated breach of section 3, and we'll tell you why unless that would put someone at risk.

11. Complaints, governing law

Contact [CAMERON TO CONFIRM] contact email first; we aim to respond within 10 business days. You can also contact Consumer Protection WA (consumerprotection.wa.gov.au). These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts of Western Australia (and courts that can hear appeals from them) have non-exclusive jurisdiction. That does not take away any protection the law of your own state or territory gives you.
