Handemova

Disclaimer

Handemova is a scheduling and record-keeping tool. It is not legal advice and does not replace parenting orders, a parenting plan, a lawyer or a family dispute resolution practitioner. Court orders always come first.

Not legal advice

Nothing in Handemova, including the guides, the parenting plan → holiday rules tool, the travel consent letter tool, the tone check, the records summary or any AI suggestion, is legal, financial, medical, counselling or other professional advice. Family law is complex and each family is different. For advice, contact a family lawyer, a Legal Aid office (in WA: Legal Aid WA, 1300 650 579), a community legal centre, or the Family Relationship Advice Line (1800 050 321).

Court orders and plans come first

If you have parenting orders, those orders decide. A parenting plan (a written, signed and dated agreement) is not enforceable like an order. The calendar is only as accurate as what you enter: check it matches your orders or plan. Changing the calendar does not change your orders.

Records and evidence

Your records may be useful if you see a mediator or go to court, and the tamper-evident history can show that entries haven't been changed since they were made. But Handemova is not court-approved, and whether a record is admitted as evidence, and the weight it is given, is for the court to decide under the Evidence Act 1995 (Cth) and the court's rules. Section 121 of the Family Law Act 1975 restricts publishing information that identifies people in family law proceedings: don't post your records publicly.

Western Australia

In WA, matters for children of married and de facto couples are heard by the Family Court of Western Australia, a separate state court that applies the Family Court Act 1997 (WA) and the Family Law Act 1975. Elsewhere in Australia, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia hears them.

Safety

Handemova is not an emergency or monitoring service. If you are in danger call 000. If you have a family violence restraining order (WA) or another protection order, follow it, even if it means not using Handemova with the other person. See family violence help (it has a quick-exit link).
