Accessibility

We want Handemova to work for everyone, including parents using screen readers, large text, keyboard-only or a small, older phone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

• Text scales to 200% and reflows down to 320px wide; iPhone Larger Text is respected.
• Skip link, visible focus, labelled controls and keyboard access.
• Colour contrast is checked to AA, and colour is never the only cue (each home also has a name and label).
• Animations stop if you ask your device to reduce motion; the video on the home page then shows a still image.
• Automated accessibility checks run before each release.

Known gaps

• We haven't yet had an independent audit or tested with every screen reader. [CAMERON TO CONFIRM]
• Some printable exports are simple tables without extra headings.
