Stop missing school notices across two homes
The school emails one parent. Seesaw pings the other. The pupil-free day surprises everyone. Here's a simple routine that keeps both homes in the loop.
1. Make sure both parents get the notices
Ask the school office to list both parents for newsletters and notices (most schools can). In Seesaw, each parent can connect as a family member. Set email notifications to All so each announcement arrives as an email. The once-a-day summary doesn't include the message itself.
2. Turn notices into dates, once
In Handemova, open More → School notices. Paste the email text, or upload a saved email (.eml), a PDF newsletter or a calendar file (.ics). It finds the dates (excursions, carnivals, photo days, pupil-free days) and shows each one with the sentence it came from.
3. Check, then add for both homes
Nothing is added by itself. Fix the title or time if needed, tap Add to calendar, and it appears in both homes' calendars. Not relevant? Tap "Not needed".
4. Ask for the school's calendar file
Many schools publish their calendar as an iCal link or file (Sentral, School Stream, Audiri and Skoolbag schools often do). Download the .ics and upload it to get the whole term's dates as suggestions.
Coming soon: a private forwarding address for each family, so you can forward notices straight from your inbox.
Handemova never asks for your school-app password and doesn't log in to school apps. It only reads what you choose to paste, upload or forward.
